The Holy Redeemer Conference of the St. Vincent de Paul Society provides emergency assistance to families and individuals in our community. Its primary service is the Food Room, which is open every Wednesday and Saturday afternoon in the basement of the church. Conference members also respond to requests for emergency heating oil, utilities assistance and partial rent payments. Seasonal activities include providing food baskets at Christmas and the annual food drive.
The St. Vincent de Paul Society welcomes any parishioner who would like to volunteer time to continue the work of serving the needs of our community. Meetings are held every month on the second and fourth Tuesday evenings in the parish rectory.

ST. VINCENT DE PAUL~June 16, 2019~Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity
As we celebrate the mystery of the Trinity, we also realize the mystery of how much God loves and cares for us each day. Believing in this in our lives can then overflow in thanksgiving and praise.
As difficult as it is to grasp the mystery of the Trinity, it is even more difficult to grasp that God loves us enough to share divine life and glory with us. Living the paschal mystery means that we are faithful witnesses to the God within. Sometimes rather than witnessing through doing good works, we need to witness simply by appreciating ourselves and others for the wonderful gift of God’s presence that we are. The readings this week challenge us to become more deeply aware of God’s presence in creation, in Jesus and in ourselves. Then allow that awareness to overflow in thanksgiving and praise that gives God glory. (Living Liturgy, p.146)
Is there a family you know who needs assistance? Please call the Society of St. Vincent de Paul so that together we can help those who are suffering.
Weekly Status of Giving:
Through your gifts for the week up to 6/5/19, the Holy Redeemer SVDP Conference has brought the love and care of Jesus to the poor by assisting 11 families with food worth $835 and 4 families with rent/utilities totaling $875.96. 706 lbs of in-kind food donations were collected through the generosity of Parishioners and Friends, and 37 volunteer hours were worked including 9 care center visits. In addition, the SVDP/Bethel Lutheran co-sponsorship of the Sunday Community Breakfast fed 300 hungry, mostly homeless persons in our midst.
