At the 10:00 o’clock Mass on Sundays, children are regularly invited up during the Liturgy of the Word to go to the Rectory with their adult leaders. In the Rectory hallway the children hear the readings of the day in simple, beautiful language they can understand, and then think about and talk about ways they can apply the Word of God to their own young lives. In other words, they celebrate the Liturgy of the Word just like we do in the big church, but in a way adapted to the needs of children. All children ages Pre-K to 3rd grade are welcome.
Parents are welcome to accompany their children to Children’s Liturgy at any time; and are asked to always accompany children under the age of 4.
FIRST SUNDAY OF THE MONTH: On this Sunday, we have Children’s Liturgy of the Word in Church. Fr. John gathers the children around him on the floor in front of the altar, and we can all take part in a Liturgy of the Word adapted for children. Sometimes we are amazed at what we can learn “out of the mouths of babes!”
